Help to display "one night only" film session for my cinema website.

Recommended Posts

I run a cinema and sell tickets through my squarespace site: www.rewindcinema.net

When I have a movie that has a "one night only" run, in the variant options I put "Date" & "Time" for the session. But I have to put a variant option as "blank" in each field along with the day and screening time so that the date and time options are on the product page, otherwise I have to put these details in the product's title, which doesn't flow with the rest of the movie sessions.

Does anyone know if there's a way to just have one option for each variant?

Thanks for any help

There's not a way to do this as far as I'm aware. Your best bet may be to add the date and time to the end of the description like this:

Date:
Friday 10th November

Time:
6.30pm

Then with the correct styling this text can be targeted so it can be made to look like the variant buttons.

Thanks heaps for your reply. The only problem with this is I don't think I can control how many tickets there are to sell? Also, how do they add the item to the cart? Is there a purchase option?

That could work but then how do they add the item to the cart? Is there a purchase option?

The quantity and add to cart remain the same, you just remove the variants and replace it with styled non-interactive text.

Thanks so much! Not as nice as having the highlighted buttons but it works. Cheers!

With Custom CSS you can still have the background, border, padding, even a hover effect if you wanted. It could look very similar (just without the BLANK button)

Sure, here's some CSS, but you'll have to set the text to the correct sizes and styles/

#item-65405956e63e6a28d70fb3f3 {
  .sqsrte-large strong em {
    background:#8111d1;
    padding:1rem;
    border:2px solid #fff;
    border-radius:0.4rem;
    color:#fff;
    font-size:1rem;
    font-weight:700;
    font-style: normal;
  }
}

Add this to the product description:

Date:
Friday 10th November

Time:
6.30pm

Make the "Date" and "Time" text paragraph 3, and then "Friday 10th November" and "6.30pm" paragraph 1 AND set this text to Bold AND Italic.

It is not possible to have one option as a variant. Can you help me to understand why you want the single date/time to appear as a variant?

Thank you. As can see in the attachment below. It looks nice when there are buttons for the date and time if there are more than one. When there's a single screening film, it will look different to the rest of the movies on the website unless I add a blank option as a variance, then it will come up as a button. I just want it to be fluid across the whole site so everything looks the same.
