sebastiangier Posted November 5, 2023 Posted November 5, 2023 Hi everyone, I recently created a new website (ddxconference.com) but my old side (designdrives.org) was pretty good when it comes to their SEO ranking. What is the best way or steps to "transfer" the SEO ranking to the new website? Do I have to message every backlink to update their link? Or is there a smarter way? Thanks a lot!
Ziggy Posted November 8, 2023 Posted November 8, 2023 Changing your domain name generally has a big impact on your search ranking, there are steps you can take to negate this. Making sure all of your old URLs are forwarding to your new website is important, connect the old domain as a secondary domain to your new website, inform Google Search Console that you are transferring one domain to the other, all good things to start with, start by reading this, and do as much as you can to hold on to that SEO ranking. https://www.seospace.co.uk/blog/change-domain-name-squarespace Individually requesting backlinks are updated is difficult but worth doing.
