Site Width on Various Devices

Recommended Posts

We recently discovered that depending on the device that people are viewing the site on, the text/images/boxes are overlapping or stretching. For example, it looks great on a Macbook/Laptop, but when viewing on an iMac desktop, the site is so stretched and there is so much space. Is it possible to lock the site dimensions so no matter how large their browser is, they are still getting the same view? I hate that content is shifting around!!

To start with try changing your page max width to 1200px (under Site Styles -> Spacing). 2000px is very wide, and clearly wider than the screen you are designing on. This will require tweaking the design on all of your pages, but start with the homepage (or a duplicate of the homepage) and if you want to make the page width wider again you can easily revert. You could also get rid of the blank columns you have on most sections which will help the view on smaller screens.

If you are getting overlapping you may have blocks that overlap in a way that is not necessary and causes problems on certain screen sizes.
