Products end up at the bottom when adding using API

When I add products using the commerce/products API endpoint, they always end up at the bottom of the store page, and I have to manually select each one and send them up using the "send to top" button. Is there any way I can avoid this and have recently pushed products be the most recent on the store page automatically?
