how to create a network of connected round clickable images?

hello,

on the linked page, instead of a grid of images, i would like to have a graphic that looks like a mind map... a network of connected round nodes. each node would be a clickable round image of a person, instead of the rectangular photos you see now. is there a way to do this?

i would like it to look like the attached image. the page would scroll down and be about twice as long as this image. each of the photos would be clickable to a blog post about that person.

An alternative would be to use the image for an image map.
