Adding and formatting text to project titles

I need my project titles to provide quite a bit more information than just a name. I've attached an image my ideal result. 

I'm pretty new to Squarespace, but relatively confident with CSS, so if anyone out there has tips on how to make this magic happen I would love advice!

When you say project titles, are you referring to a portfolio collection grid page? Can you share the URL and this location?

This does look perfect, but I'm getting stuck on where in the Squarespace interface I add the custom CSS.

From the tutorial, it looks like you add the CSS directly to the project page, but there isn't an option for that.
