Gallery zoom in options

Hello, I'm using the gallery page in the Jasper Jin 7.0 template to display work, although when i click on an image it provides a grey box with the description over the image and has an ineffectual zoom in feature. I'd like to customize this "sub page" off the gallery to make it just a still image with black text to the right side for the description, all on a white page. Could someone help me with this?? Thank you.
