summary blocks

Can anyone point me to instructions for adding / linking a new summary block to an existing blog page, as a way of increasing number of visible posts?

This plugin allows primarily for adding filters but also for setting the number of items in each pagination page:

It's not a cheap way to simply increase the number of blogs visible, but it's a really powerful plugin, especially if you have lots of blogs that have been categorized and tagged.
