7.1 template access

Hello all, 

I'm on 7.1 and I can't find where templates are now. I saw on this forum in another post that the design option is missing if "Website panel flag is enabled" But I have no idea what this is and how to disable it.  And help would be gratefully received.

Squarespace 7.1 doesn't have switchable templates. The functionality of 7.1 is the same no matter which template you start with, I prefer to think of them as starting points not templates. You can change the theme by selecting a new font pack, and by changing the colour palette, resetting styles. The "template" pages are built from pre-build page layouts and pre-built section layouts.

What are you trying to do with a new template? Is there anything else I can help with?

I want to build a new version of my site but not from scratch, and I honestly don't get 7.1. Seems mental.

Also, how come pages within portfolios aren't moveable?  My website is based on a portfolio with many pages within. Now as I'm building a new site, those pages aren't able to be moved to the not linked section individually, that is a terrible design.

Can you not just build new pages? Or duplicate them and redesign?

I'm not a designer, I'm also a single parent with not much time. So these things take infinitely longer for me.  Was hoping for a days work rather than a weeks worth.  

You can't duplicate pages inside a portfolio, they're all custom arranged with hundreds of images. Just a ball ache to be fair.
