jonnydeep0 Posted October 11, 2023 Posted October 11, 2023 I've been encountering some frustrating formatting issues and broken links on my Squarespace website, and I'm seeking assistance from the community to address these issues. Despite my best efforts to maintain a polished and user-friendly site, I've run into the following problems: Inconsistent Formatting: The formatting of text, images, and other elements on my website appears inconsistent across different devices and browsers. It seems that my website doesn't respond well to responsive design, leading to uneven spacing, text overlap, and an overall disjointed appearance. Broken Links: Several links within my website are malfunctioning or leading to error pages. This is not only frustrating for my visitors but also impacts my website's SEO and user experience. I need help identifying the root causes of these broken links and fixing them. Mobile Responsiveness Issues: While my website looks decent on desktop devices, it doesn't fare as well on mobile devices. Some content is not properly scaled or aligned, and images may not load correctly. This issue is likely causing me to lose potential mobile visitors. Loading Speed: The loading speed of my website is slower than I'd like it to be. I understand that this can negatively impact both user experience and search engine rankings. I need advice on optimizing the loading speed of my Squarespace site. I've tried to troubleshoot these issues myself, but I've hit a wall. I'm open to any suggestions, tips, or solutions that the Squarespace community can provide to help me address these problems and enhance the overall quality of my website. Your feedback and expertise would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance!
studiofounded Posted October 12, 2023 Posted October 12, 2023 (edited) Hi @jonnydeep0 Are you using Classic Editor or Fluid Engine? With Fluid Engine, you can edit mobile view separately. Otherwise, you may need: CSS to adjust elements A web designer who can best adjust your site elements to mobile To consider mobile-first design Broken links occur when you add a link then change the page URL. Just be mindful when updating your page URLs that you will need to also change any broken links. There isn't an easy or automatic ways to fix broken URL. Page speed issues can be due to things like image size, number of fonts, amount of code. Please share your URL so I can take a look! — Hannah Studio Founded Edited October 12, 2023 by studiofounded A brand designer & strategist creating brands that bridge the gaps between artistry, strategy, and thoughtful consideration.
