Can I only design website on a laptop?

Hi, any help would be greatly appreciated. So, I’d like to attempt to create a very simple website as a gallery of my art and possibly to sell some time in the future, I’ve no website building experience, I just googled build my own website and I liked the look of Squarespace from a design point of view, however I’m having difficulty in building one although I am doing it on an iphone, is this my mistake or do I actually need to hire someone on Squarespace to do this?
