How to check if a specific member is logged in on website?

I'm creating a mobile application to pair up with my Squarespace website. Basically, I need a functionality to check if a user's credentials (email and password) is correct to provide specific permissions on my mobile app. Is there a way built into Squarespace for this, or is there a way to code this functionality into my website?
