DarioDiMaggio
Hi everyone! I'd like to translate my website from english to italian. I tried weglot but I don't have budget at the moment to pay the service. I'm not able to use coding. What's the easiest option in order to translate my website? Is there any automatic option in order to do so? I thought to duplicate pages, but this forces me to create a welcome page where I can switch from italian or english, but I don't want to do that. Please can you guide me with the best solution? Thank you Link to comment
Ziggy
This solution works very well, but because you have to have duplicate pages it can be time-consuming to set up and to manage. https://www.bradgood.net/articles/multi-language-content-on-any-squarespace-template Please like and upvote if my comments were helpful to you. DarioDiMaggio
Hi Ziggy! Do I have to check every single code to change ES in IT? I have already had a look to this article and it is very scary and time consuming for me. It's not clear to me and I'm already lost at step number 2! hahahaha Link to comment
Ziggy
For step 2. You would need to rename all your page slugs to include the /en/... for the english pages and /it/... for the Italian duplicates. If your website is live then you'd also need to do URL mapping for SEO and change all of your internal links to reflect the change. I would suggest that you start a new website on a trial and see how you need to set this up before going at your live website with these updates, it's a big job if you have lots of pages. DarioDiMaggio
If I duplicate the pages and make them in italian, is there a way to put the header in italian in the italian pages only? What's the easiest way you suggest? Link to comment
Ziggy
Which bit of the header are you referring to? Logo? Navigation? Please like and upvote if my comments were helpful to you. Cheers!
