cpfullerton Posted September 26, 2023 Posted September 26, 2023 Hello! I recently switched a client's website from wordpress to squarespace. We kept her domain at GoDaddy but her domain is now linked to her squarespace website. She has tried to login to her wordpress website with her old login information but it's as if it doesn't exist! What can we do now to recover her old website? She doesn't need it live, but wants to access the back end. I'm hoping it can all be accesses at sarahmorrill.wordpress.com. Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks, Chelsea
tuanphan Posted September 27, 2023 Posted September 27, 2023 (edited) Hi, You need to connect DNS back to your hosting (and the Squarespace, you won't can access) to can access to WordPress site. In case you want 2 site still can access, you can create a subdomain and connect your WP site with this domain. (will need to change some info in database and wp-config file). cpfullerton Posted December 23, 2023 Author Posted December 23, 2023 Thank you for your help with this Tuan!
Newscasbl Posted July 8 Posted July 8 (edited) When you redirected the domain to Squarespace, the direct link to the WordPress backend likely got lost. If you still have the hosting for the old WordPress site, you can try accessing it through the original URL like sarahmorrill.wordpress.com or the IP address provided by your hosting company. If that doesn't work, you might want to get some professional help. I recommend checking out Frogstone Media. They specialize in managing and developing WordPress websites and might be able to help you recover access. You can find them at https://www.frogstonemedia.com/ Edited July 8 by Newscasbl
