How do I make the box with my email address in actually open a new email?

So, yes, I have an email on the "contact" page & at the moment, it does nothing. It would be great if it would open a blank email in the visitor's chosen email client.

Is this possible?

(The funny thing is that I added a picture to that same page & there was a box in which I was able to add my email, so clicking on the image does what I want it to do but clicking on the email address doesn't.)

Assuming you have a button with a mailto link with your email address; this will open a new blank email but how it does this is based on how the users browser is set up, so for some people it will do nothing but if their browser is set to open mailto links in gmail or outlook etc. then that will be what happens. As a website owner you don't have control over how a user has this set up which is why displaying the email address in plain text is useful, but why having a simple form can be even better.
