Code block height on published website is different from the height in the Squarespace editor

I've written a blog post that uses code blocks and anchor links to help the user navigate to different sections of the blog. However, the code block heights come out bigger when viewed on the published website.

Screenshot attached showing the difference. The larger gaps don't look very professional so would be grateful for a solution that tightens the code blocks up so they look like how they do in the Squarespace editor. Thank you!
