White spike over slider gallery (slanted divider)

I'm trying unsuccessfully to get the slider under the red area below the navigation on the home page, but there's always a white spike left. I would like to have it filled with an image - like on the other pages where there is a header image. Unfortunately, this doesn't work with the slider. 
Does anyone know if there is anything I can do with CSS? Many thanks for your help!
