How to work on redesign of homepage with banner and image showing

Hello! I'm trying to redesign my homepage while keeping my current homepage online. When I duplicate the page, the banner image and text styles go away. Is there any way to design a homepage offline and be able to see your banner image? I'd like to not have to take my site offline or have a cover page instead.

You can add a password to an individual page and place it in the "not linked" section, which allows you to design it and view it, but it isn't publicly viewable without the password. You can also disable individual pages in the page settings.

I'm not sure of everything you want to change in the design, but if you make global change in the Styles menu or in the navigation, what I suggested above won't prevent those changes from affecting the live pages.

@Ziggy Thanks for replying! I tried that, but my header image and the text in the header still aren't showing. Attached are screenshots of what the current one looks like, and what the hidden one with a password looks like.

Can you share your website and these pages and password? I'm a little confused as to what the issue is. Thanks!

Are the stylings and image set in Custom CSS? How are you setting this up?
