Resin8
If I want to "add a card" to a product that only has a quantity of 1 to start, it makes a new sku and if they choose the card as an add on, it doesn't deplete the inventory on the original art. I ended up adding it as a form after clicking "buy now" and giving it for free but I want to charge for this add-on in the future and can't do it in the form. https://www.letsresin8art.com/shop/p/heart-magnet-b2a26-2sgww-25thn paul2009 1 Link to comment

This is a limitation of the Squarespace platform at the moment. I look forward to a day when we'll be able to add chargeable add-ons to Product Detail Pages without affecting the way inventory is handled for the primary product. However, until that day, we're limited to either: using a variant option of "add a card". This treats the "product without card" as an entirely different inventory unit to the "product with card". using a custom product form that asks if they want a card. Adding a card will not influence the price. As a workaround I've written an extension that allows you to add a second button to the PDP. It is primarily designed for product samples but it could equally be used to offer a product add-on like your cards. The add-on would be treated as a separate product so wouldn't affect the inventory of the main product and would allow you to charge for the add-on. I hope this helps to give you ideas. Resin8
This is awesome. Thank you Paul. Could your extension add two more options to the PDP? Edited September 12, 2023 by Resin8 Link to comment
paul2009
It currently adds one option because it was been designed for product samples, where there is usually one sample per product. I can't promise a solution for more than one additional product, but I'm intrigued to understand how you want to use it so I'd like to understand more about your requirements. Can you post back a mockup of what you'd like to achieve? Me: I'm Paul, a SQSP user for >18 yrs & Circle Leader since 2017. I value honesty, transparency, diversity and good design ♥. Resin8
Something like this. See attached. To thicken the plot - there are 8 Resin8 cards to choose from. I currently have the options as a form (but can't charge for them with this layout so I made them a September Special). Could I have a form as part of the 'sample' button? It seems so simple but I feel like I'm getting into the weeds here. Link to comment
