Need to allow for UK Gift Aid donations

Has anyone built a UK site taking payments or donations for a charity found a way to allow for Gift Aid to be applied?  Generally seems to be a form to fill in, so could this just be custom fields?  Or is there more to it than just collecting the data?

You can add custom form fields to your Donation Block by clicking Add Form Fields, then clicking Add Field. To learn more about the information required for Gift Aid, please see the gov.uk website. This also explains how to make a claim.

Form fields display in the additional information section during checkout. Site owners, administrators, and store managers can view completed forms in the Donations panel. It isn't possible to send it to a spreadsheet.
