Courses NOT for 7.0

I am so disappointed and disheartened with Squarespace rn I could cry. I NEED courses badly for my business. The fact that they didn't create some sort of update for us old users who still have 7.0 is so unfair. We are the older customers and you'd think that would mean something. Everywhere I look it says to just create a new site under 7.1 and change everything over but do you know how much work my site took to create? How much time it took to get it how I wanted it? I love my site. It's not so easy. We have to change plans, cancel the old page, switch domains, pay for a new site and more. It's insane. Why not just give us an update or plug in or something so we can use the feature as well? I have been with them for 6 years and now sadly, due to this, I think it's time to go. I'm so upset. They didn't think of us at all.

This is something I came to search for help as well. I have the 7.0 version and apparently I can´t create courses behind paywall. That sucks, really. I even paid for the add-on to add digital product and then found out that sorry, that can´t happen.

What the heck?! You can buy the digital product add-on with 7.0 version BUT you cannot CREATE it? 
Or can I? Does anyone know?

I´ve been trying to figure out a way to build a membership area on my webpage. I have the older version, 7.0. I even bought the digital product add-on. But apparently due to older version, Squarespace doesnt allow me to create what I´ve paid for.

Does anyone know solution for this? Other than taking down my webpage and transferring everything to 7.1, buying a new domain etc? That´s hell of a work and makes me consider changing my webpage to somewhere else.

So, can you build member area when using the older version 7.0. with digital product add-on?

I can confirm that Courses Pages and Videos Pages are only available on version 7.1. They rely on technology that is built into the 7.1 platform so couldn't be added to version 7.0.

Member Sites (formally Member Areas) are part of the Digital Products ecosystem and are available on version 7.0.
