amandaclairef
Hey everyone, I've heard this community is very supportive! If you have a few minutes, I'd love your first impressions of my website. I'm a certified dog trainer in Toronto. I started with a template, but pretty much went rogue and built it how I wanted, ha. I'm not a web designer by any means, but Squarespace makes it easy! Happy to make improvements based on your suggestions. Thanks in advance! Here's the link. Edited September 25 by amandaclairef Link to comment
tuanphan
I think header is a bit big (height), you can remove some space inside logo to make header smaller On mobile, there is a white bar at bottom of screen I guess you should move down text a bit? It overlaps head of girl on desktop, this is a button, but not on mobile Email me if you have need any help (free, of course.). Answer within 24 hours. WCS
@amandaclairef Love love love your logo! Overall, your site looks great 😊 The 2 things that stood out to me: 1. Looks like you don't have any legal language on your site yet (cookie policy. etc.) 2. I would recommend fixing some of the low-contrast text on your website to be more accessible. An easy way to check this is to use this free site to compare hex codes: https://webaim.org/resources/contrastchecker Here are a few areas where I saw low contrast text: ka00876 1 Was our response helpful? JessicaM
@amandaclairef Overall you've done a great job! I like the Real Deal font and it works well with the other fonts on the site 🙂 I just have a few suggestions (some have already been mentioned) - - I would make the logo a little bit smaller so that you can reduce the height of the header (great logo, btw!) - On the Day Training page, there's a lot of extra space in the 3 orange Package blocks...I would just space out the text so that it can breathe a little better and fills out the space more. - On that same page, I would make it so that they can click on a package from right there and purchase it. You're going to lose people if they have to click the Book Now button and fill out a long form. The less friction there is for the client, the more people you'll convert into clients. I would also put some testimonials on this page of people who have worked with you...because this is the screen to make a purchase - so you DO NOT want them backing out now! Testimonials will give them confidence that making the purchase really is the right decision. - All of the buttons overall are a bit small to me (except for Meet Amanda on the home page)... These buttons are calls to action so they need to be big and obvious...not obnoxiously big, but they need to stand out. I think a slightly bigger button and a bolder font will help. - Look at the color of the font on some of the images...you may need either a slightly different color or put a transparent background behind the text so that you can read the text but still see the image. - Also you can remove the Home button from the navigation at the top because your logo operates as Home. Overall, nice job! Just look at tweaking a few things to increase conversions. I LOVE dogs, btw 🙂 Jessica Miller | Squarespace Website Designer https://www.jessicamiller.work jessica@jessicamiller.work Search the blog and get weekly Squarespace tips to your inbox https://www.jessicamiller.work/blog Want to pick my brain or get help? amandaclairef
@JessicaM Amazing feedback, thanks so much! Everything you said makes sense. Lots to do, but I will tackle as much as I can. This is why it makes good sense to hire a professional, haha. Again, I really appreciate all of it! JessicaM 1 Link to comment
