Is there a way I can just view the categories on the store page instead of seeing all my products?

Recommended Posts

When I click on the store page it shows all my products and the categories at the top. Is there a way I can just have the categories showing with maybe a picture with each category, so the user has to click on the category to take them to a separate category page with the relevant products? Apologies in advance for the crude attached PNG... hope you get the gist.

Please post the URL for a page on your site where we can see your issue.

A link to the backend of the your site won’t work for us, i.e. a url that contains /config/.

Please set up a site-wide password, if your site is not public and you've not already done so.

Post the password here.

Adding a site-wide password does not allow anyone to alter your site. It only allows those with the password to see your site.

Please read the site-wide password and how to share a link documentation to understand how they work.

We can then take a look at your issue.

Does this work?

I can see your site but I see no signs of any of the code being installed. There are a least 3 bits of code that need to be installed to get to a working effect.

It is hard to diagnose code I can't see. As long the code is not causing an issue, even if it is not working, keep it installed.

The following code is what I put into the Page Header Code Injection for Services:

<style>

  /*

    this ruleset is not active in SS Preview. to test it use private browsing
    < https://tinyurl.com/mrx6rs47 >

    */

  html:not( .squarespace-damask ) body:not( [data-store-category] ) .products.collection-content-wrapper .list-grid {

    display : none;

    }

  </style>

I see issues. You've not installed jQuery, per instructions. You have CSS in code injection. It either needs to be in custom CSS or wrapped in a style tag.

Example of misplaced code.

    @media screen and ( min-width : 576px ) {

  [data-store-category="Petrified Wood"].tweak-products-nested-category-type-sidebar.tweak-products-category-title .products.collection-content-wrapper .nested-category-title:after {

    border-color : #a00;
    content : "Text goes here...";
    font-family : Raleway;
    font-size : calc( 1rem );
    padding : 20px 0;
    opacity : 1;
    text-align : center;

    }
  }
