Page to accept payments

Recommended Posts

Our page is for an event space.  We would like to have a page where the renter could go, enter their name and date of event and enter a payment amount to process.  This amount will always be different depending on if they are a local resident, making a deposit or regular payment, etc. so a store product doesn't work for us since the amounts will vary.  Any tips on how to set up a page where they can enter the amount they are paying and process the payment would be greatly appreciated.

We ended up using the project management feature which allows us to invoice folks and the invoice has a “pay” button.  Be aware that Stripe takes the 2.9%+.30 and if you don’t have a commerce account with SquareSpace, they will take another approximately 3% so we did have to upgrade our plan from business to commerce.

On another website we have, for vendor rentals, I set up a store with the booth options as products, then on the page where they register, I used product blocks that have the add to cart option. I really didn’t like the layout and I don’t like that the only way I could figure out to get their registration info to come in with the payment was to use the form option on the checkout page.  Then on the page that had the product blocks, I set the design of the product block to only show the add to cart button and then lined up my description text next to the button to give the appearance of a list (see attachment).  My preference would have been for the page to have the registration form and then they select which booth option they want and then add to cart, so if anyone has figured out a better way to do that, I would love some tips.
