Why doesn't site header use fluid engine for layout?

Does anyone know of a workaround for this sort of thing?

Why doesn't fluid engine live in the header, too...aligning things between the header and body seems foundational.

You can align certain things in the header.

Alternatively, you could hide the header and create a section in FE that has the same elements as the header.

Good idea on hiding the header...but I'd still love to know why fluid engine is in the body and  footer but not the header...I'd love to know Squarespace's logic or reasoning on this.

Probably because it's harder to get wrong this way, Squarespace is designed to be easy to use, so where you are complexity is important to manage, but that said I like your idea! Possibilities...
