Add vertical text to custom scrollbar thumb?

Recommended Posts

This might be a weird request, but is there a way I can plug some code in to include a word in the scroll bar? I'd like it to run vertically, with the end of the word pointing to the bottom of the page (baseline facing inward). I've included the code below I'm using so far.

Would also be great if I can control the height of the bar, but it seems like it's controlled by the amount of content?

Thank you in advance!

::-webkit-scrollbar {
  width: 15px;
  border-width: 10px;

::-webkit-scrollbar-track-piece {
  background-color: #eceeec;
  border-color: #fff;
  border-width: 1px 1px 1px 2px;
  border-style: solid;

::-webkit-scrollbar-thumb {
  border-radius: 10px;
background: #b4d647;
box-shadow: 2px 2px #fff inset, 3px 3px #b4d647!important;
border: 1.5px solid #000 !important;

Yes- this is it exactly, add text over the item you’re pointing to.

I think we can add some text with CSS code then make it float & sticky to right of page, next to scroll bar. What do you think? If you share site url, we can give an example code
