ShootsDraws
Hi all, Does anyone know of any reason why my favicon isn't displaying in Google Search results? See the attached image. I have uploaded the Favicon in the backend to the required specs/dimensions, and the website has been up for months now (so it's not newly published). Thanks. Link to comment
Ziggy
It may be that your favicon isn't scaled correctly or the right format/size. Can you share it here? Ziggy
Looks fine, but may be worth meeting this criteria on GS: https://developers.google.com/search/docs/appearance/favicon-in-search Your favicon must be a multiple of 48px square, for example: 48x48px, 96x96px, 144x144px and so on. CmaineU
I am having the same issue. With Squarespace resizing the favicon to 100px, it doesn't follow Google guidelines, thus not showing up in Google Search Results. It's been an incredibly frustrating process to look for solutions only to have an extremely old logo display with current designs. Does anyone now of any ways to remedy this? I'm looking for a miracle! Link to comment
WCS
@ShootsDraws Hmm well your favicon is definitely associated with your site (http://www.beoutdoorfit.com/favicon.ico), so that's good. Since Squarespace may be resizing your favicon regardless, I'd suggest having Google index your homepage (see screenshot below). This article may be helpful as well: https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/9012289#request_indexing @CmaineU have you tried this yet? 👆 If that doesn't work, then resize it as Ziggy suggested and give it a new name as well. Keep in mind that you may need to log out of your account and clear your cache in order to see the difference. Let us know if it works! 🤞 If all else fails, Mike_Sorrentino found a code-based solution that worked for them and may be worth trying. Was our response helpful? Click 👍 or mark it as the solution! Ruwaid
Hi Team, Iv been working on my site for quite a bit, id say its been up for a few months now. For some reason i cant get the Favicon to appear on the Google Search. I am currently meeting all guidelines, favicon is 144x144, stable and not change for a few months, iv injected the following code into the header of my site <link rel="icon" href="https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/64d1dc0b44c81400798e538c/ac5d79ab-8aa3-401c-8f41-221c13c6c6a9/favicon.ico"> Im indexing the site to see if that'll come up but unsure at this current stage. I don't even seem to be getting the usual SquareSpace Block, im just getting an empty globe. Let me know what you may think. Thanks Link to comment
Joachim-Koch
Did you have AMP turned on and switched it off after while? We've seen that drive the issue you mention. Link to comment
