How to create scrolling over fixed images

Hi all, I would be grateful if anyone knows how to create the effect of fixed images in the background of a scrolling landing page. I know how to create basic scrolling, but don't know the name of this feature. Please see this example site using an image at the start and end of the site.

I was sure this feature was available in a Squarespace template, yet can't seem to find one.

Set a background image on the section, and set the image effect to parallax:

Hi Ziggy thanks so much! This really helps, though I wonder if Squarespace paralex is not the same as the example site, as it doesn't give the same dramatic effect?
