Adding blocks on events sub-page not possible

The guidelines state that it is possible to add blocks on event pages (not the overview page, the subpages that are created for specific events), but I cannot add any blocks on my event page, not even a description. I tried both Chrome and Firefox browsers, and the add buttons do not appear.

Yes, you can add blocks to individual Event pages using the Classic editor, like this:

If this isn’t working for you, the first troubleshooting step is to remove any custom code that you’ve added to your site in the the Custom CSS panel and any of the Code Injection panels. Save it somewhere safe and, with the code removed, check if things are working correctly. If the issue persists, please contact Squarespace Customer Care directly and report it. If they provide you with a solution or workaround, please post it here for the benefit of other users.
