This is part of an update that Squarespace is rolling out across sites:

7.1 websites

In 7.1, we’ve removed the Design panel completely when the Website panel flag is enabled.

  • Site Styles can be opened from the toolbar without having to click Edit.
  • Items like the 404 page now live at the bottom of the Pages panel under System Pages.
  • Browser Icon and Social Sharing now live under Settings.
  • Custom CSS now lives under Site Styles

7.0 websites

In 7.0, the Design panel remains.

  • Clicking Website will give you the option to then choose Pages or Design.
  • Items like the 404 page now live at the bottom of the Pages panel under System Pages.

Hello,

Last week, I realized that the custom fonts on my website were not displaying. I re-uploaded the fonts and it seemed to fix it. Now, this morning, same problem again, but I also cannot find the Design tab in the Home menu.

Does anyone know what could be happening?

Hello, I can't seem to find the Design option to edit my custom CSS. I'm the owner of the site. I was using it normally and suddenly it's not there. The trial is still on, hasn't expired just yet. I don't know what could be causing this. I added a custom HTML code on the website but it shouldn't be it.

Please advise, thanks a lot!

I'm missing the Design option to add custom CSS

It is not missing just moved. SS has changed the menu structure. You can use the search icon as shown in your image to find Custom CSS. Or, go to Website > Website Tools > Custom CSS.

Hi Guillermo, there are some changes being made to the menu - yours might be found under Website now, in which case:

  • Site Styles can be opened from the toolbar without having to click Edit.
  • Items like the 404 page now live at the bottom of the Pages panel under System Pages.
  • Browser Icon and Social Sharing now live under Settings.
  • Custom CSS now lives under Site Styles

I'm in the middle of finishing a new site, getting ready to launch, and my Design menu is now gone and there is absolutely NO design settings in the Styles Menu, I can't access Custom CSS!! Please help!!

When I go to Circle Labs and try to uncheck the Website menu option it just keeps checking the option, it won't leave it unchecked. I can't get the Design menu back. Very frustrating.

Hi, can we get a resolution on @dsophie? I am experiencing the same issue and am unable to disable a previously enabled Circle Labs feature. Note: I am not referring to the Circle Labs features that clearly indicate that once enabled, you can no longer go back to the previous state. Any guidance you could share would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!Circle_Labs_Issue_08_03_2023.thumb.png.864cef9594846d9538791ff79510b25d.png

Hello! I need to change the template for a website and I can't seem to find that option anywhere now. Can anyone help me?

All templates in SS 7.1 share same settings so you can replicate any templates with current template. It also means there is no option to change the template

Email me if you have need any help (free, of course.). Answer within 24 hours.
