Exporting fields on orders .csv from Custom Checkout Form (on specific products)

Recommended Posts

Hi there,

I tried exporting commerce orders and found that the resulting .csv was unfortunately missing the crucial fields that I've added in the Custom Checkout Form. This, however, is most likely due to the fact that these fields are in product specific checkout forms and not the global Custom Checkout Form. I was wondering if there was a way that I could still get these fields or if there was an alternative to needing to swap it over to the global form as this would introduce a few UX problems on our site that I'd like to avoid if possible.

Thanks!

I assume that you are referring to Custom Product Forms (not Checkout Forms). You can include the information from a Custom Product Form when exporting orders to a CSV file if you choose a specific product during the export process. If you choose all products, the form data is not exported.

Hey Paul! Appreciate the response, I think I might be confusing myself with the wording!

For context, there's a few service products on our website that require the customer to supply us with an Envelope Number that they have on a custom form prior to the product being added to the cart, then checked out. Under this setting specifically shown in the screenshots. I'm realizing now that this is a Product Form and not a checkout form as you mentioned-- I need to see these fields exported per order if that's possible, as I'd like to see a .csv with each envelope number in a column. Is this possible?

Thank you!

Yes.  As I mentioned above, you must filter by the specific product at the start of the export process.

  1. Select All products to download orders for all products.
  2. Select Specific Product and search for a product to download orders that include specific products.
  3. Check Include product form data to include custom product form submissions in the .csv.
  4. Click Download to export.

I'm still stuck on the same issue as OP. The "Export" button is greyed out and I cannot move forward to export. I tried typing in different fields under "Specific Product" too but nothing comes up. Help please!

After selecting the Specific product radio button, you should be able to start typing the name of a product and then select it from a list.

I created a Custom checkout form and the specific information for the the fields filled out aren't viewable when I try to export as a .csv file. I can see the filled out fields in the order summaries but I can't see how to export this data customers have inputed.

I go to Download CSV >> choose Date: All Time Orders and under Product >> Specific Product, and do not see any of the fields to choose when I type it in.

I did All Products too and not able to see the specific field data from the orders.

The original poster was asking about data from a Custom Product Form. In contrast, you mentioned a Custom Checkout Form, which is different.

If you are using a Custom Product Form, you must limit the export to a specified product that uses that form. If you are using a Custom Checkout Form, all exports will include this detail, with each form field in its own column.

I hope this helps. If it doesn't, I recommend that you contact Squarespace Customer Support for help with this issue as forum users don't have access to your site or exported files.
