Unable to Connect (Error messages across the site)

Hi Folks

For some reason I am getting "unable to connect" messages where a block should be.

eg: A calendar block will not appear (its shows the outline and the header of the block says "unable to connect"

eg: a HTML block - the same thing - when I click through I can view the html inside

Any ideas would be appreciated.
