Domain connection not working

Hi,

I try to connect my domain. Domain I try to connect is vstage.fi. I am using third party site domainhotelli.fi. 

It would be critical to get the domain connected so that after the connection the site would not show .squarespace. etc. at address bar of web browser.

The problems I have:

• When I try to use a domain I own squarespace says "fi domains are not currently supported".
• I have tried connect domain but I don't work. it says "Connecting in process" but after some time the error happens.
• I also have changed DNS setting etc.

What to do? 

If I for example purchase vstage.com from Squarespace and use that as a main domain does the .squarespace. -part be left out of the address bar when browsing the website?

Hi Oona, I've checked your domain and it appears to be connected as it goes to your site's lock screen. Were you trying to connect the domain, or transfer the domain to Squarespace? You can't transfer unsupported domains to Squarespace but you should still be able to connect it in the DNS settings.

Your custom domain is not your primary domain and is currently ‘forwarded’ to your Squarespace domain. This is not correct.
Please turn off forwarding with your domain host and then try connecting it again. Check also that your custom do,Ian has been set as the ‘primary’ domain within the Squarespace domains panel.

Thank you for the fast reply. I deleted the "forwarded" part and I have tried a couple of times to follow these instructions you listed:

Unfortunately still no use.

I attached a couple of photos to show you the current situation as it is if you can help me easier like this. 

In my third party host site's DNS settings you find my added parts at the end of the list. In "The names" of  CHANE or A will be automatically added: ".vstage.fi." and name "@" cannot be used. Because of this the names are not 2hf7c3xbet82f84crlmz6" and "@" but they turn into: "hf7c3xbet82f84crlmz6.vstage.fi." etc.

"www" part is just edited in the beginning.

I hope you can still give me some tips to make this work..

Any news regarding my last question?

I'm not a DNS expert but I wonder if there are conflicting entries - I can see some in there for what's probably Wordpress (FTP, CPanel etc)

Please check the Domains panel within the Squarespace website and ensure the custom domain is set as the ‘primary’.

Thank you so much for your support. I finally get the website to work and domain connected. Apparently there was one extra records in the DNS settings which was blocking the connection. Now it finally works. Have a great day.
