How can I expand my images on the landing page by a few pixels so they meet diagonally? I'd like to eliminate the empty space in the middle where they should be flush.

Can you share your website URL? My suggestion is that you adjust the row and column spacing to zero (there's a setting for this) and that should allow these to touch corner to corner.
