Folder Drop Down Nav Menu links not working when on one those pages 7.1 fluid engine FE

Hi there, I have a second level menu on one of my pages, so one folder. The links in the drop down menu work fine until I click on one of those specific pages, and then suddenly the links are no longer links and I can't access any more of those pages. It happens on all of the pages included in the drop down menu folder.

any help or advice would be great!

this is just a problem on desktop.

It looks like you have some code and CSS added to the website, if you remove it temporarily does this problem go away?

removing BOLD made the links clickable:

/* Nav item active color */
@media screen and (min-width: 641px) {
.header-nav-item--active a {
  color: rgba(182, 157, 208, 1)!important;
  pointer-events: none !important;
 background-image: none !important;
}

/* Nav item hover color */
.header-nav-item  a:hover {
    color: #ddd9e6 !important;
  margin-top: -3px!important;
    transition: top ease 0.3s !important;
;

}
}

thank you for making me check haha!

is there a way now to make active/current page links not clickable again? removing the pointer cursor was a work around for me originally but am now removing this 🙂

thank you so much for speedy replies.

Yes, point events none is designed to stop an object being clickable.

Why are you trying to prevent clicking on the active link? I've never seen a website where this was disabled.

Your point makes sense, but a link that you can't click on makes your website look broken, which is also not ideal. Given that (almost) every other website hasn't chosen to implement this type of user experience suggests that it is not a major issue.

That said, if you use this code it should have your desired effect:

body:not(.header--menu-open) .header-nav-folder-item--active .header-nav-folder-item-content {
  pointer-events:none !important;
}
