Entire Section Disappears in Edit Mode

Recommended Posts

I have a pricing page on my website and the first section is a multi-tab block.  I'd like to edit the text in each of those tabs, however when I enter edit mode, the entire tab block disappears.  When I exit edit mode, the block is still missing until I refresh the entire site.  Is this a bug in the editing mode or am I just not understanding something here?

Please post the URL for a page on your site where we can see your issue.

A link to the backend of the your site won’t work for us, i.e. a url that contains /config/.

Please set up a site-wide password, if your site is not public and you've not already done so.

Post the password here.

Adding a site-wide password does not allow anyone to alter your site. It only allows those with the password to see your site.

Please read the site-wide password and how to share a link documentation to understand how they work.

We can then take a look at your issue.

My site is public, but I don't think you'll be able to see the issue because it only appears in the editor.

I won't be able to see the issue but being able to see your site tells me loads of information.

As a test go to Design > Site Styles. Find Ajax loading and turn it off. Reload your page a couple of times. Try editing.

What happens? Same thing? Does it work now?

Ajax Loading was already turned off.  I tried it on and off, and no change in behavior.

Is there anyone who has any ideas for this problem?  I haven't been able to edit this page for two months now and it's critical that I'm able to do so.  I tried using different browsers, I tried turning off Ajax Loading, but it has made no difference.

@tiarosephoto The tabs on your 'investment' page have been built with a third party plugin, so they are 'stored' in a Squarespace Code Block. When you edit the page, Code Blocks can be unpredictable and may be hidden to protect you from unexpected changes.

However, if you can find the Code Block, you should be able to open it and edit the content, which should look something like this snippet:

<div class="sqs-html-content">
  <h1 style="white-space:pre-wrap;">wedding Day</h1><h3 style="white-space:pre-wrap;">STARTING AT: $2,000-$5,000</h3><p class="" style="white-space:pre-wrap;">Contact me for individual wedding  packages.</p><p class="" style="white-space:pre-wrap;">Alright, whether you’re having a small intimate wedding or the whole big party shebang, I’m your girl!  You’ll have your people there, the ones near and dear to you, dancing their hearts out and ugly crying through your vows, and I’ll be there catching it all!</p><p class="" style="white-space:pre-wrap;">Every love story, couple and crazy adventure looks different, as it should. Therefore, every package is customized to fit each of my couples. But as a starting point, this is the base for my most popular packages! </p>
</div>
