How to set up two or more background images?

We all know that the system has its own background system, we can add the background we like by ourselves, if we add the background on the home page, it will cover the navigation bar of the head section. I like this design very much, but I was wondering if there is any way to add more pictures so that the pictures can be rotated automatically. Someone suggested using the gallery mode, but the pictures in the gallery mode cannot cover the navigation bar. How to overcome this?
