Unable to delete default categories (receiving error), can I use code to hide them?

When using the editing menu to try to hide or ideally delete the default Categories that appeared when building my commerce page I get an error saying the system was unable to complete the request. No matter how I try to accomplish this, I get an error. As a last result, is there a way to completely hide all of the categories from my shop page? Or, using code, hide the unwanted ones (Kits + Accessory, Body)? Thank you!

SS has been having backend issues recently. You may want to wait a bit, several hours, or a day, then try again.

The next step would be to report the issue to SS Customer Service.

If those options fail, then bump this thread and perhaps someone can help.

This error is still occurring. I cannot delete those pre-made Categories, nor can I edit them. No matter what angle I attempt to do either of those workarounds, I get one of two error messages. I am attaching screenshots.

There is not much we can do to help with an SS backend issue. Please Contact Customer Support.

It sounds like a corrupted collection to me.

Do you have a lot of products added to the Store page?
