Is it possible to customise the search block so that blog posts' DATES are returned

Hello everybody,

I'm new to using Squarespace, and have deployed a Search Block on the above page, to help site visitors search the whole of our site for specific keywords.

This is likely to be done mostly in relation to blog posts we have created, and I have been asked whether it is possible to customise the preview that pops-up so that it :-

a) shows the date of the blog post, where a blog post is returned in the preview results; and

b) orders the blog posts chronologically, newest first.

I have already opined that this will not be possible on the basis that the search block is essentially trawling all content for the keyword/s chosen, so even if it were an option you'd have some preview results coming back with dates, some without, and how can the system possibly know what to sort on this basis, but I also promised to ask the lovely Squarespace community, to see whether anything can be done in this regard.

Unfortunately, the built-in search feature does not have any customisation options and cannot be customised with code either. In addition, built-in search is somewhat unreliable, so I’d recommend using an alternative method to discover content on your site.
