lcyoder3
Hi everyone! As has been well documented on the forum, the Squarespace Search bar is, well, less than stellar. I'm wondering what you all use instead of the Squarespace Search feature, or even, what Squarespace itself uses (I don't seem to have issues finding content on Squarespace). I know Elfsight and Google both have paid options, but one of my client's in-particular doesn't love either of them. She also let's me know when I make suggestions that she pays for Squarespace....why should she be paying someone else for a feature that Squarespace already has? Curious to read what the rest of you are doing to combat the Search issue. Thanks in advance! Laura Link to comment

In many cases SS does not eat their own dog food. Their sites are often highly customized versions of SS or they don't use internal tools to accomplish particular tasks. This is not unusual per se but if they did have to use their own search engine they might have fixed the issue long ago. Edited June 22 by creedon lcyoder3 1 Find my contributions useful? The Squarespace Investor Relations site has search but.....the site is built on Microsoft ASP.NET. lcyoder3 and creedon 2 About: SQSP User for 17 yrs. Circle Leader since 2017. creedon
Quote why should she be paying someone else for a feature that Squarespace already has? This is like my car has an AM radio why should I pay for an FM radio or a super stereo system? Some of you may not be old enough to remember vehicles that only had AM radio (or no radio at all)! 🙂 Quote Curious to read what the rest of you are doing to combat the Search issue. No system is perfect and unfortunately SS's search is just broken and there are no signs of it getting fixed. We are then left with using an external service if you want reliable search. lcyoder3 1 Find my contributions useful? Please like, upvote, mark my answer as the best ( solution ), and see my profile. This is kind of what I assumed, I was hopeful however that there was something I just wasn't thinking of:/ creedon 1 Link to comment
