JodyCSmith
Hello! I am trying to make our categories visible in a dropdown menu on our shop page. We have 4 categories that contain subcategories. However, they will not display on the shop page. "Enable Page" and "Filter Visibility" are greyed out and unavailable; nothing permanent seems to happen when I select "ADD TO YOUR MAIN NAVIGATION." The category will show on the page on its own, but then it will disappear and will not list all of the categories and subcategories together. "Our Products" — with all products — is the only thing that will enable and display on the shop page since it is not listed as a category. Please help! Link to comment

Clicking ADD TO YOUR MAIN NAVIGATION should create a link to the category in your site’s main navigation, but it wasn't working for me either, when I checked. I recommend that you contact Squarespace Customer Care about this issue. As a workaround, you should be able to create links to categories by manually adding links to the main navigation. To do this: Open the PAGES panel. Click the + icon next to the section where you want to add the category link. You may want to add a Folder first, and then add the links to this folder. In the menu, click Link. In the Link Editor, type a suitable title and the category URL, like this: Save your changes. For more information on manually adding links, see Adding links to your navigation. Did this help? Please give feedback by clicking an icon below ⬇️ About: SQSP User for 17 yrs. JodyCSmith
Quote As a workaround, you should be able to create links to categories by manually adding links to the main navigation. To do this: We've tried adding links to take customers to the various categories by clicking on the hyperlink on the home page, but when I test it out, I receive an error message that the page will not load. Does the page/category need to be enabled to view in order for this to happen? Because I receive an error message when trying to enable that as well... the toggle button is greyed out, and I am unable to change it. Link to comment
