jasonhackwith Posted May 26, 2023 Posted May 26, 2023 So I have been fighting with customer support over this issue now for about a month and a half. There's a bug that basically randomly deletes the entire content out of a blog post when you go to edit it. It's struck several times now on multiple sites running 7.0. You get a "Item Not Found" and then POOF! all of the content in your post is gone. Hitting Ctrl-Z does nothing. Hitting Cancel leaves you with a completely blank blog post, and Squarespace says they can't recover it. This has raised far more serious concerns about the security of content we post to Squarespace. I have been a Squarespace customer for over ten years. Over that time I've run into some interesting issues, but this one really takes the cake. I am interested in hearing what other long-time Squarespace developers have to say about the security of their content. When you are releasing a site to your clients for them to use and update, how do you explain to them that their content isn't even backed up by Squarespace, and if something goes wrong (a site error or bug) their content can be deleted without possibility of restoration?
