Mobile Main Nav Dropdowns

Hey there, ive seen the question elsewhere and tried a couple of suggested things that havent worked for me so far.
Looking for some css or another possible way, without a plugin, to style the 7.1 mobile menu so that any dropdown menus are 
displayed in the main navigation in mobile mode. Currently the folder in the main nav takes you to 
another page with the dropdown links, which obviously isnt ideal. 
In desktop mode its working perfectly though, the dropdown appears when you hover over the folder in the header etc, its 
just the mobile mode that has the issue.
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.
