The reason that you can't add an image to the Chair page, is because the categories (Chairs, Stools, Sofas) are all the same page, just filtered.

It may appear this way, but these URLs all point to categories within the "seating" store page.

You may find this thread to be a helpful starting point as @creedon offers a workaround for showing/hiding content on store pages.
