Best bet presumably would be to create a password protect on the pages which detail your wholesale product. See the bottom part of the attached image. However would it not be better to have a separate site for wholesale? I don't want to pay retail if I can see that there is a link for wholesale which I can't use. Know what I mean?

Thank you for the information. Yes I see what you are saying. I guess that would mean I have to maintain two separate websites, which I was trying to avoid. Most customers tend to not pay attention to wholesale stuff so I thought it wouldn't be so bad. So technically I could create a locked page or link that redirects the wholesale customer to another page where they can purchase for their stores? It that how it would work? I will have to think about how to go about this then.Thank you for your help!

You could create a 2nd shop inside your shop with the page HIDDEN and you'd give the link to your retail stores customers in private.

We have created a hidden page which I email to those interested in wholesale. I have password protected the page and once the retailer enters the site, they can fill out the wholesale application and view our agreement. We provide each wholesaler with a unique discount code which they can use to purchase at 50% from our regular site, tax free. Hope this helps.

I've been trying to come up with a wholesale solution for my site as well.

I've tried making an unlinked page with forms, but it doesn't allow for easy product selection or price calculations

I've also tried making an unlinked product page, with discount codes, but it doesn't allow me to unlink the shipping for this separate page (or maybe I can?) Shipping for volume is different from retail, and often retailers have their own shipping accounts that they prefer to use.

Any additional suggestions?

Highroadprovisions, how were you able to do so tax free? I can't seem to find a way around charging tax for in-state wholesalers, so my work around has been to just refund them the tax immediately afterwards which is obviously not ideal.

Also, for reference, here's how I've got mine set up: - I have a regular page set up, but only linked to from the superfooter at the bottom of each page, not the top nav bar - I also give this link out when Im in communication with a potential wholesaler - that link itself is not password protected and has a link to a page with a form called "create an account". Once they fill that in, then I send them the password that they need for the page where they can actually place their order. - that page has all my products in as case sizes which already have the 50% wholesale price; so no need for discount codes... do need however to input all those cases which takes time. But I like it because then they have to buy by the case.

Thank you @highroadprovisions. Do you just bill wholesale customers with the same billing system as your other customers. We would like to have an invoice option to bill wholesalers with. Do you know how that might be possible? Thank you.

Squarespace Commerce isn't optimized for wholesale shopping with member logins or separate wholesale pricing for products. Squarespace engineers are always looking for ways to improve the platform and are aware that this is a feature that users are interested in.

You can write into customer care to put in a feature request by following the link here:

https://support.squarespace.com/hc/en-us/requests/new

In the meantime, as a workaround you can use a password to protect a page that houses wholesale priced products. To do this, you would first need to create a second version of each product and mark that with the wholesale price. You are able to duplicate products and then edit the price and information.

There's a handy guide on duplicating products here:

support.squarespace.com/hc/en-us/articles/206540547

You could then move the wholesale products to a new page. To do this, go to the Product Page that houses the wholesale products > select the product/s you'd like to move > click Move Items near the bottom of the panel > choose the new product page that you'd like to move them to.

There's a handy guide available here to help you through the process:

support.squarespace.com/hc/en-us/articles/205811428

Each product, retail and wholesale, would have it's own separate inventory when using this method so you would need to manage the product inventory manually outside of Squarespace.

Once you've created the page with the wholesale prices, you can protect it behind a password. We have a helpful guide for this here:

support.squarespace.com/hc/en-us/articles/205814618-Setting-a-page-password

You can then supply that password to your wholesale clients in order for them to shop and purchase the wholesale priced products.

Hey this is exactly what I am looking for, what I would like to know is how you set up the squarespace login site with the create account link? Where the customers can create their account, but have that approved by me, so then I can give out the password to the wholesale page which is password protected, and where the newly approved customers would be able to fill out the purchase order of our wholesale products?
