preventing automatic top of page when exiting out of gallery mode for wells template

Hi all, I'm currently using the wells template and was wondering if there were any codes that prevent the gallery page from automatically going to the top of the website when exited out of it?

Any help would be appreciated!

Strange sounding behaviour. Is this happening when exiting the lightbox?

It happens when I click on the image for full screen (I'm not sure if that counts as a lightbox feature) and exit out of it and does so on all of the gallery pages.

I think it's inherent to the wells template as I've noticed it whilst using the demo template as well but if possible I would like it to prevent it from doing so.
