PDF link feature not working

Good afternoon all - I have recently created a new website and on the website are a series of buttons that should download a file when clicked upon. However, when testing the site, and clicking on the file I am trying to download, it opens and new window stating "Static1" and nothing happens...

Does anyone know if there is an issue with file hosting on Squarespace?

Thanks!

Edit the file that button is connected to and give it a simple name like NOTICE, then edit the button, choose the gear icon next to the link then the file option and when Notice comes up in the list check it and then see how it works. You can keep the same button title.

Hi, I have given this a go, but the PDF still doesn't start to download when the button is selected. Thanks for getting back to me.

I have figured it out. It seems that the "File Hosting" feature is not available within the trial version provided by Squarespace, so when you try and access it, the feature takes you to the link but doesn't give you the file. I updated my account with a payment plan this morning, and the feature now works as intended.

I have the same issue here as well.  I'm currently in the trial mode though. I wasn't on planning to upgrade it until the client is ready to launch. I've made sure to reduce the pdf file size to be well under the 20 MB mark though. I linked the first catalogue on the page to the pdf I want, but it's opening up in a new tab blank.

I'm posting my website link here: https://chiton-snail-p5em.squarespace.com/catalogues

Any solutions for this?
