Reuse an existing Gallery in 7.1

Hello! I was wondering, does anyone know how to reuse an existing gallery block in 7.1? It has the option to use an existing gallery but nothing shows. Since you can't create a gallery page like you could in 7.0 - is there anyway to find and manage an existing gallery? I'm basically using a gallery to showcase Vimeo video links and can't figure out how to find it outside of the portfolio page it's on via a block.

Any help would be much appreciated, I've been searching all over for an answer but have had no luck.

I have created a snippet that can move around the gallery section, but it is only works within one page only. I can think of supporting ajax call for external galleries when I have time. In the mean time my suggestion is place your gallery in the footer and hide using CSS to move it around
