Awesome products but bleeding small business dry

I am a small business owner trying to grow my business on a very small budget. I love Squarespace, but I can only afford the basic commerce plan. I did pay the extra fee to upgrade and get the email campaigns. However, if I want to add special promotion discount codes, I must upgrade. I have to upgrade to grow customer loyalty by offering automated purchase replies. If I want automated scheduling for email campaigns, I have to upgrade. 

Squarespace markets itself as a champion for small businesses, yet they place barriers in the way when it comes to small businesses being able to grow their business. I feel like every time I try to do something to help me grow my business, there is a hidden fee to force me to upgrade, which isn't within my budget. 

Feeling frustrated.
