Shipping or Pick-up option at checkout

The pickup option should appear unless the products are subscription products. Customers can't choose local pickup when they check out with subscription products.

I am having this problem as well.  I can only choose a shipping option OR local pickup- I cannot find a way for the customer to choose local pickup or shipping at checkout and no- these are not subscription items.

Thank you for the clarification regarding the fulfillment limitation of subscription products, @paul2009.

I am wondering if there may be a workaround for a current client project, offering a monthly wine club subscription - with the fulfillment choice of either local pick up or shipping.

This is a first time implementation of subscription products, so still a steep learning curve here.

A quick workaround tip after chatting with the Squarespace Customer Care team: 

I created a separate flat rate option, set the cost of that shipping option to $0 + titled "Local Pick Up", so visitors can now choose between free pick up or quoted shipping rate.

We shouldn't have to do ridiculous workarounds like this. How hard can it be to allow subscription customers the option to pick up rather than have their items shipped or delivered?
